Discover Kids "Sail Away" TV Show

A New Weekly Series Chronicles the Fantastic Summer Voyage of Ten Young Sea-Faring Explorers Who Venture Into the Spectacular World of The Bahamas on Island Expedition's sailboats

SAIL AWAY, a modern-day, Jacques Cousteau-like sea adventure airs each Saturday from 9:00 to 10:00 AM, as part of the Discovery Kids weekend programming block. SAIL AWAY also began airing at different times during the week. SAIL AWAY brings regular kids together to confront the thrilling challenges of an intense, five-week-long voyage, and, in the process, test the outer limits of the sea, each other and themselves.

SAIL AWAY is there with every crashing wave as the kids investigate the mysteries of uninhabited islands, mangroves and underwater caves. They discover the underwater magic and danger of the sea with its colorful tropical fish, dolphins, manta rays, ancient sea turtles and menacing sharks.

The SAIL AWAY Island Expedition kids are from different parts of the country and they have come away from their voyage with a deeper understanding of the rich diversity and extreme fragility of the world around them. Petra from Norfolk and Geo from Tallahassee had fantastic experiences with dolphins and have taken their feelings back home to protect dolphins. Geo's first impressions of the dolphins form the Log Book, Wednesday June 21:

"When we got to the White Sand Ridge everyone was so excited because this is the dolphin area. When the dolphins came around the boat and were ready to play it was the most amazing sight. OH, MY GOD! They swam so close to me over and over again- It was amazing- Today was great."

Aubrey really liked Allen's Cay, the iguana island, and here's his quote form the Logbook Sunday June 11th-:

"This is paradise ....when we landed on the beach. It was the most amazing thing ever. I love the way things work around here... everyone depends on their team There are iguanas everywhere on the beach!!"

We have hundreds of quotes from the everyday experiences of the SAIL AWAY Island Expedition kids. Here are just a few examples: Charlotte's encounter with a sea turtle; Whitney's cooking dinner and recipes; Carlos's swimming experience with sharks; Elie's painful encounter with jelly fish and much more..

SAIL AWAY records each moment so viewers at home feel as if they are in the middle of all the action! They will see what it's like to investigate a spooky sunken plane wreck and hear the clicking and squealing of dolphins. SAIL AWAY captures the kids' wide range of emotions aboard the boat as they emerge from the depths of the sea with their tales of wonderment and awe maybe even some great treasure to share.

SAIL AWAY follows the expedition members as they visit and experience the cultures of various exotic islands in the Caribbean including meeting and interacting with native kids their own age. Aubrey and Geo, two kids who took part in the expedition, narrate the experience bringing a kids' view point to the program. Viewers will also come to know the expedition team led by Dragan and Nicolas Popov. They will watch the adventurers interact with their expert leaders and learn from their knowledge and passion. Crew members joining the Popovs, are young adults who share their commitment to protecting the sea and educating kids.
